The fork clamp size required for the ST-M20 Aluminium stem to fit is 28.6mm, or a 1 1/8” fork. The clamping height of the stem is 40mm and it is compatible with 31.8mm handlebar clamp widths. These are typical standards across mountain and road bikes but do always check the details of your existing parts before buying, just in case. The ideal stem will be the right length for you, so you’re not overreaching to the handlebars, or under-reaching and feeling cramped or pushed back on your bike. It’s important to get the right length to suit you, so take some measurements before deciding what reach you need. The XLC Pro SL A-Head Stem ST-M20 Aluminium is available in both 70mm and 90mm reach lengths to suit a good variety of riders. The stem also has two ‘modes’, in the sense that it can be used with either an angle of + or - 5°, depending on which way up you mount it.
