The XLC chain rivet remover TO-S81 is something you should have in your toolbox. It's handy for removing your chain without the use of a quick link and allows you to replace or remove your chain without the need of visiting the bike shop. This chain tool works by removing the rivet or pin from within your chain by pushing it out with pressure. This particular tool is compatible with chains used on 5-11 speed groupsets, as well as single-speeds. It comes with an adjustable guide rail so you can keep the removal tool straight as you twist the handle to remove the chain’s pin. Simply put the chain in the tool and line up the pin you want to remove, then twist the handle until it forces the pin out.
