Warum braucht man neue Schnellspanner?

Why do you need new quick release skewers? They actually last forever because there is no wear. But there are still a couple of good reasons: Loss - if you often take off the front wheel on your bike to transport it by car, you may lose the quick release skewer at some point. Weight - you want to make your racing bike lighter and get maximum performance; by replacing the quick release skewers you can lose a few grams. Tuning - design is important to you so you want the colours on your bike to harmonise; we have quick release skewers in many different colours. No matter what the reason, at XLC you will find quick release skewers made of different materials, of different weight and in different colours.

In recent years bikes are increasingly fitted with thru-axles instead of quick release skewers, especially mountain bikes with disk brakes.
